Imagine if you couldn't afford to provide a memorial for the grave of a loved one who had passed away. Or worse, that you didn't know where their final resting place was. Like other local authorities, our Shire Council has started identifying the locations of unmarked graves in its cemeteries and identifying their occupants. Macleay Vocational College has designed two crosses that allow people to have a special but simple memorial site to demonstrate feelings of love, honour and respect for their departed loved one. There is the simple but elegant 'Bolwon' design and the more ornate 'Macleay' with its Celtic overtones. There is a selection of three colours - blonde (ash), red (jarrah) or brown (maple) stain colours and a choice of cross size depending on whether it's for the grave of an adult or young person. Crosses are also available for roadsides - to mark the place where there has been a fatal accident or to mark the graves for beloved pets. For further information or orders please view and print the illustrated leaflet including an order form (975 kb). |
